If you didn’t know it already, China is home to everything odd and adventurous when it comes to architectural design. It seems fitting then that its leading design firm is called MAD. Named after its founder Ma Yansong, the firm has been designing some pretty jaw-dropping projects around the country. Below is a curated list of some of their best projects, sorted by completion status. I’m particularly drawn to the Huangshan Mountain Village and the way the buildings seemingly float within the mountainous topography.
