Åvontuura is an independent publisher of hand-illustrated architecture guides, founded in 2017 by Toronto-based architect Karl van Es.

Our mission is to inspire architectural discovery through beautifully designed, thoughtfully curated travel guides. Created for architects, curious travellers and lovers of the built environment, our guides celebrate the buildings that shape the character and identity of cities around the world.

Pocket-sized and designed for exploration, each guide brings together a carefully selected collection of historic landmarks, modernist icons and contemporary architecture.
