Åvontuura is an independent publisher of bespoke architecture maps. It was founded in 2017 by Toronto-based architect Karl van Es. 

Our mission is to craft beautifully designed travel guides that empower people to discover and experience the best architecture each city has to offer—blending visual inspiration with practical information for every architect, traveler, and city dweller. We strive to make architectural exploration accessible, enjoyable, and enriching by combining thoughtfully curated routes, illustrated maps, and expert insights, ensuring every journey through a city’s built environment is both aesthetically inspiring and seamlessly navigable.

Titles to date blend contemporary, modern, and historic works of architecture that go beyond your traditional guidebook and offer you a curated and up-to-date set of buildings that define the architectural character and legacy of a city.
