GLF HEADQUARTERS | OPPENHEIM ARCHITECTURE

Miami, Florida, USA Description provided by Oppenheim Architecture. Set on the banks of the Miami River, at the junction of Overtown and Little Havana, this modern office complex was commissioned as the U.S. headquarters for international engineering and construction outfit GLF Construction Corporation.   [caption id="attachment_10104" align="alignnone" width="1600"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View form the river © Karen Fuchs[/caption]   The building was designed with simplicity in mind, featuring large floor plates that allow user flexibility and evoke the feeling of open space. Inside, the program includes office and studio space, conference rooms, lounges, balconies and common areas that maximize both interior and exterior views.   [caption id="attachment_10106" align="alignnone" width="1400"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture Conference room view © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10108" align="alignnone" width="1800"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture Terrace space view © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10107" align="alignnone" width="1200"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture Terrace space view © Karen Fuchs[/caption]   GLF Headquarters’ form draws inspiration from its adjacent context and scale - citing both the inherent industrial and nautical overtones of the location. The resulting 4-story structure resembles a stack of shipping containers – a common spectacle visible from the project site – strategically arranged to create large unique volumes and sheltered spaces that accommodate various uses.   [caption id="attachment_10103" align="alignnone" width="1600"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View from the street © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10102" align="alignnone" width="2000"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture Night view from the river © Karen Fuchs[/caption]   The elegant, yet simple, exterior is the perfect amalgamation of raw steel accents, pristine glass windows and the exposed concrete that envelops each rectangular form. Materials were meticulously selected and combined to create a timeless piece.   [caption id="attachment_10105" align="alignnone" width="1600"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View of the facade © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10110" align="alignnone" width="1600"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View from the entrance © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10115" align="alignnone" width="2000"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View of the stacked volumes © Karen Fuchs[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10112" align="alignnone" width="1356"]GLF Headquarters by Oppenheim Architecture View of the facade © Karen Fuchs[/caption]
