Since founding Åvontuura in 2017, the goal has always been to empower architects, travelers, and city dwellers to discover and experience remarkable buildings across the globe. What started as a blog—spotlighting must-see projects in over 200 cities—quickly grew into something more. We realized that sharing great places online was only the beginning; we wanted to offer something truly tangible and memorable for your journeys.

In November 2023, we introduced The Wandering Series: a collection of physical maps designed to make architecture travel effortless and inspiring. Each guide blends curated routes, hand-illustrated maps, and expert insights, all crafted to help you experience cities in fresh ways.

Blogging introduced us to countless inspiring people and outstanding projects—connections that continue to shape the Åvontuura story today. But with so many websites offering daily content, we asked ourselves: what makes us unique? The answer is our devotion to beautifully designed maps and our focus on the buildings—and people—that make every place special.

Our new website brings these guides to the forefront, streamlining your travel planning with standout features, customer testimonials, a growing list of stockists, and even a countdown to our next map release.

The feature we’re most excited to introduce is the multi-city “Set Builder."
