Architects play a critical role in designing the buildings and spaces we interact with on a daily basis. Designing places we actually want to live and work in can lead to dramatic increases in mental health, physical well-being, and overall happiness.
One of the things I most admire about contemporary German architecture is the strong emphasis it places on technically well thought out design solutions that are equal parts beautiful and functional. With a rich history of European art, design, and industry, I appreciate the inventive and playful nature of their work and the consideration they have of their physical context, both socially and environmentally.
