The Command of the Oceans is a beautiful new maritime museum in Chatham, England that brings new life to the historic buildings on its dockyard site. Complete with 21st-century visitor facilities and galleries, the building underwent significant renovations during construction and, including the discovery of the wreckage of an old ship, The Namur below its soil prior to excavation.
See the building come to life as architect Alan Mitchell talks about its design and purpose in this remarkable video.
